Three good years with NATO’s Defence Strategic Communications journal

My three-year term as a founding editorial board member of NATO’s Defence Strategic Communications journal is over.

Published by NATO’s Strategic Communications Centre of Excellence in Riga, Latvia, the journal is part of Latvia’s small but outsized contribution to the Atlantic alliance. Like the Centre itself, the journal began as a Latvian initiative.

The Centre is thriving, serving as the top center in Europe for information about disinformation and propaganda, and how to combat it. The editorial board rotates in single terms to avoid editorial dominance. We started the journal in the summer of 2015.

“With your assistance and contribution, we’ve had the joy of publishing numerous articles on strategic communications, defence, and international security more broadly,” STRATCOMCOE Director Janis Sarts said, inviting me to remain part of the NATO Strategic Communications Centre of Excellence.

I accept.
